That worked but now my OS is slowly corrupting itself. Cool…where do you get your parts? How do I do it exactly?

We recommend using the latest available drivers when configuring your RAID controller. The first one is recognized by Windows Explorer.
Help!, my new Asus A8V won’t recognize my 1 SATA drive
I have installed the SATA raid drivers during the windows xp installation by pressing F6 etc, however when I finish the installation it is still saying that I have no hard drives installed. I’m not sure if I’m lacking saus another needed harddrive to accomplish this, or if I just plugged things into wrong slots.

Thanks so much for this help, it had taken me 2 days of trying to get my A8V-UA board to recognise the SATA hard drive, the most frustrating thign was that neither the promise or fasttrak drivers that came with the ASUS mobo on the support cd worked! Mon Oct 25, 7: Unless you have a aa8v reason to do otherwise, use the VIA ports – dont have a SATA drive myself but I do know that you have to load 8av drivers from floppy before you can use it. Setup loaded some files, then asked the F6 question.
